Some embroidered album covers....

I've been looking into music packaging and album art work that uses embroidery, I have only found a few so far.....if you know of anymore please inform me!

However, I have found some pretty cool things done with vinyl.....not necessarily to do with embroidery as such but definately visually pleasing -

I particularly like this guys monkey paintings on vinyls

SEWWWWWW remember when you purchased a vinyl and all the beautiful surprises that came with it? And now what do you get? A few words on a computer screen in the form of a music file, wooopeedoo! Oh, and maybe a small square of album artwork that you have to squint to make out. Not really much compared to this is it?

A close up of the amazing picture disc

And best of all, when you open up the vinyl packaging, this beauty that will go perfectly above the mantlepiece.....

All purchased at the British Heart Foundation for only five english pounds. Nice to know my money is going to a good cause, all parties happy.

The Knitting & Stitching Exhibition

I went to the Knitting & Stitching Exhibition in Harrogate recently to see all the wonderful goings on in the world of all things knitted, sewn and fabric-y! Saw some great ideas.....

MMMMM

There were many people illustrating with the power of thread!

This piece reminded me of my 'Image to Text' piece...

This work caught my eye, by a lady called Susie Vickery, who was very lovely and gave some good advice for what I am doing....I enjoyed her use of characters, colours and culture....

I also saw Naomi Ryder's work up close, the illustrations were on a sheer fabric so you could see other girls through each layer, I really liked this effect, it was hanging like a curtain, quite beautiful!

I came home with this array of beautiful fabrics so I was a happy lady....

All in all a good day, very inspirational!

My first time.....

So.....(or sew!) this is my first blog. And with all the babies around

at the moment I thought I'd have my own, so I made one today on my sewing

machine. My first born for my first blog. It's quieter and less trouble

than a real baby......think it's a keeper
